Invitation to Submit
The Allied Health Professional Executive Committee (DHHS and THS) and the Tasmanian Allied Health Professionals Advancement Committee (TAHPAC) are pleased to invite you to submit an abstract for research, clinical innovation or workforce resilience initiatives and projects reflecting the symposium theme ‘Allied Health, the key to unlocking good health’.
Allied health professionals and allied health assistants from all sectors, public and private health, education, community and non-government services, research and other organisations are welcome to submit abstracts and attend.
Abstracts detailing research and clinical innovation initiatives and projects should include at least preliminary results. All abstracts must be submitted using the abstract template available on the website and be no more than 300 words. We look forward to receiving your submissions and meeting you in Hobart.
The conference is at capacity for oral and poster presentations and the submission portal is now closed for new submissions.

To submit a presentation you will be asked to enter your email address and create a password.
Once you have created an account you can submit abstracts. You can log back in to submit more abstracts and to register for the conference.
Presenters are invited to submit abstracts for the formats listed below.
15 minutes (10 minute presentation, plus 5 minutes question time)
Oral presentations will be scheduled during the concurrent sessions in the symposium program within the stream that they are best suited to.

Posters will be displayed for the duration of the symposium. Authors will also be asked to attend their poster during lunch to discuss the poster with other delegates.
Whilst you will be asked to indicate your preferred presentation format the Program Committee may request an alternative format be considered.
Submission & Review
All submissions must include an abstract up to 300 words. Abstracts will be reviewed by the committee for quality and alignment with the symposium theme. All submissions are due by Monday, 28 August 2017 and must be submitted electronically via the Presentation Portal. Please email Conference Design if you have any questions or are having any issues with submission.
Review will be undertaken by the 2017 Program Committee.
Abstract Document Details
For each abstract you submit you will be asked to enter the following information:
- Presentation title
- Preferred presentation format
- Name/s of author/s
- Affiliation/s of author/s
- Indicate the presenter
- Short (100 word) biography of the presenter
1. Prepare your abstract
Prepare your abstract (up to 300 words). This applies for oral and poster submissions
2. Enter your contact details
Go to the Presentation Portal (above) to enter your contact details.
3. Enter your abstract details
Enter abstract title, names and affiliations of the presenter and authors. Also enter brief biography of the presenter(s), 100 words is sufficient.
4. Abstract body
Cut and Paste’ the abstract body text 300 words and into the relevant field in the Presentation Portal. You do not need to load an abstract document in Word.
All presenters will be required to register for the Symposium and pay the registration fee. Presenters also need to meet their own travel and accommodation costs.
Each lecture room will be equipped for the presentation of Power Point slides and include a data projector, computer (with external speakers), lectern and microphone. Other audiovisual aids, such as Overhead Projectors, are not available.
